The aim of the lamp post banner competition is to celebrate the unique spirit of Thornton Heath with artworks celebrating the wonderful community and culture in the area.
The design could be a painting, drawing, collage, photographic, typographic. You might like to draw your favourite landmark, create a design of what the area means to you, or a collage of your favourite things.
Thornton Heath is a fantastic place and the idea is to have an exciting outdoor gallery which is visible on the streets 24/7 depicting all that is great in the area.
The final designs will be displayed on five lamp posts on Melfort Road between Brigstock Road and Brook Road.
All ages and artistic abilities are encouraged to apply.
This project is funded by The People's Health Trust and made possible by the Thornton Heath Community Action Team's Street Action project. Gaetane Jones - Street Action project leader.
The submissions will be judged by a panel consisting of members from the Street Action Team, CR7 Culture, CALAT and Melfort Road residents.
Two artworks have already been secured by local artists Pins www.pinspired.com and Samantha Warren www.samanthawarren.co.uk
