Trial start date confirmed as 26 June. Join us at the street party after school!
Sustrans is excited to announce that we have had confirmation from Croydon council that we will be able to install the trial closures in Norbury Avenue on Friday 26th June. Come and join in with some fun activities on the day, from 3pm.
The enormous planters that will reduce levels of traffic will be installed after the morning school rush has subsided. An ace team will be filling them all day, hoping to finish by the time the schools kick out again!
We will be planting some lovely flowers in them and we are looking for volunteers to help maintain them. Do we have any green-fingered residents out there?
Join us: Friday 26 June from 3pm.
Street party activities for all where Norbury Avenue meets Kensington Avenue
Sustrans is organising free and fun activities to take place at the Kensington Avenue closure point after school on the day including:
- Wheels for Well-being (disability cycling charity) are bringing some of their adapted bikes down for people to try out- children and adults bikes available with experienced instructors

- Try a Brompton – learn how to fold and unfold a Brompton then test it out
- Face-painting, snacks and more…
The activities will take place at the junction where Norbury Avenue meets Kensington Avenue, on the green space outside Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College and also around the closure point there.
Pupils from Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College will also be invited to take part in a Car Free day, with a reward of a free breakfast snack for those who walk or cycle.
